Default McLellan Reservoir?

Does anyone know anything about this body of water?

Here is a map

Can you fish here? Are there any fish in here?

I don't see any posts on the board about it, thought I'd ask.

Back in the early 90's a buddy of mine lived close to the lake and would sneek in at night. He said he caught some jumbo walleye and catfish. Mabye Englewood will open it some day..... Goverment, oh never mind.

I retired from Englewwod a few years ago, they won't open it to the public as long as the current dir. of utilities is still there. It is patroled by the littleton police and a caretaker that lives just across the road from the res. Last time it was open was in 1973 or 1974. That's when they stocked the walleye in there. Now has bass, crappie, cats, perch, walleye and trout in it. Sure wish it would open again. Catfish are huge in there, but so is the fine for trepassing.

Thanks for the quick answers!

I hadn't been by there at all, I was just over at those South Platte Park lakes and went home and noticed this place on google maps. That makes sense I guess. A body of water that big would have some posts about it if it were open.

I used to sneak in there as a kid...huge large mouth and perch. There were no houses around it then, and the Harley shop was still on Santa Fe. Oh, the good ol days.

I fished that lake legally back in the 70's. 16" bass was my largest, lots of sunfish, crappie also. The place got totally trashed by the partiers and it was soon closed.

I fished it back then, too, and I never caught anything of consequence either. If I remember right it was only open one year. But I have heard the same rumors of big fish now, especially rumors of big walleyes. I have no idea whether they're true.
