Default Suffix Braid?

Anyone try Suffix Braid? I have both my Deep-jigging outfits spooled with Power pro. Was thinking about spooling my Shimano Stradic spinning reel with some Suffix.

Also, Has anyone tried the new Ugly Braid? http://tinyurl.com/2u4h5m

If you do use a super line which do you like and do you run a mono/floro-leader or just tie to the braid?

Good question Jay now that I'll be joining the ranks of the hunters I was concidering buying 2 of the count down reels with the read out on them for trolling. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. any way what should I spool them with
If we get any reports on this new Suffix line, that may be a choice. Now I have to keep up with the latest technalig [Spell].

Id say anytime you'll have a lot of line out, Weather it'd be trolling or deep jigging a no stretch line is something to consider. I think I may gradely switch almost all of my rigs of to some sort of super line.

Super lines are my only choice for downrigging. No stretch & thinner diameter makes for less bow in the line. That makes less slack in the line if a fish pulls your line free of the release or if the line doesn't release, it transmits the strike to the rod much better. It also will run deeper than mono while flatline trolling for the same reasons.

Jay, I use Fireline and the Powerpro Microfilament. I think I like the Fireline the best for no particular reason except it doesn't have the texture of a braid. I use a barrel swivel and a floro leader on my trolling applications. For laketrout jigging, I use the fireline and tie directly to my jig. I don't use fireline while jigging for 'eyes, I prefer a low stretch floro.

Dahlberg is the man so I would like to try Sufix...I have heard from industry pros that this line is less than desirable but have yet to use it.

Dahlberg is probably getting paid big bucks in addition to free line.

On one of the usual Sat. morning fishing shows they advertizing Fire Line Crystal. A clear braid. This may be the answer for some of us. I'm going to look into this.

Fireline is not a braid, it's a fused line. Slightly different but with the same small diameter/no stretch properties.

I think lots of people have been using the crystal since it came out a few months ago. I like it alot.

i saw at walmart in the springs they had all the suffex on sale. Looked like they were getting rid of all of it might be a good time to try some out cheep. I use fireline (smoke) all summer and fish from boat and shore. I love it but always have some clippers available and dont tug too hard it can slice small cuts onto the sides of your fingers. we run 10lb vanish off the fireline and it works good. we dont use down riggers or anything. Fireline get my 2 thumbs up.. Havent tried crystal or ugly yet.
