Default Chatfield question...

So I know this may be a shot in the dark, but I'm gonna ask anyways lol. Going to Chatfield later this week with an old friend while he is in town. I'm curious if anyone is willing to share some info on a good area at this time for smallmouth/walleye shore fishing. Will be in the evening till after dark some time. Not trying to beg for anyone's secret honey hole or secret baits, just some pointers on where to start. If it helps we don't keep bass at all and any large walleye would be returned. I typically stick to smaller bodies of water as I don't have a boat but he really wants to get some decent smallies so I figured that would be the place to go. Thanks in advance.

Crawdads come out starting before dark in the rocks. Shad (juvie) go up and down in the water collum depending on light penetration.
