Default 3.8 lb float tube

Came across this and thought of Slayer's post a little while back talking about hiking with a float tube and how heavy it was.

This float tube weighs in at only 3.8 lbs and is $350... $92.10 a pound

Thought this may interest some of you high mountain anglers so check it out.

Check Ebay!

They do offer a $50 discount if you buy two.

Looks impressive on weight. Thanks. A regular old style tube doesn't weigh much more, maybe a pound or two for less than $100. This one appears to have more lift, and better valve design.

I picked up an Outcast Trinity when a sporting goods store closed down about 5 years ago. Pricey at full price though:

It packs down about the same. The big advantage is you only really are down in the water below your knees. It weights about 6 lbs (says 7 lbs on the website now).

If price is no object, this one looks is light and like the Trinity, gets you out of the water, too:

I would like to try one, if Dave Scadden is reading this.

I picked up this float tube on CL and love it. I'm curious how much it weighs... Classic Accessories doesn't list the weight on their site.

Good old fashioned bathroom scale will give you a fairly close estimate. Weigh yourself, check again holding tube, do the math... viola!

I don't own a bathroom scale and I think I'd get some funny looks walking into the gym locker room with the float tube!

I'll just try to use my fish scale.
