I wear Bolle. Picked them up at the sunglass hut for 65 or 70. This was about 6 years ago so i don't know what they would go for now. I have looked at cheaper ones and it seems that you want to spend a little more money but i wouldn't go to the extreme. its just not worth it for something thats going to banged up, dropped, stepped on........ good luck.

Save your money. Nothing worse than loosing or breaking a $80.00. Saw a expo on the news where they tested 5 sun glass ranging from $4.95 to $495.00 and the difference as far as blocking UV rays was minimal at best. As far as polarized go there may a difference to the above test.

I bought some "Bill Dance" brand at BPS for $20 and they are very good!* Better than any of my prescription polarized glasses ever were.

I have a pair of Bole sunglasses that are awesome. They were about $100. They have great polarization and an anti-reflection coating on the inside of the lens. I have had 2 paris of Bole's and love them- VERY strong scratch resistance.

That being said: I doubt I will spend that much again.

One warning: my glasses have a very dark tint to them and if I could do it again I would ge something lighter. They are great when the sun is high, bright, and there is a lot of light. However, on semi-cloudy days and at dusk/dawn they are too dark. I am going to buy a pair of cheaper classes from BPS that are not quite as dark.

saw the same thing jay is talking about, i agree, don't blow the dough on the shades, there is many many many more things you can spend it on that unlike shades can intrest the fish...

IMO

I currently wear Cocoons. I have wore prescription glasses and contact darn near my entire life. The Cocoons go over my prescription glasses and I like them as far as quality goes.

When I wore contact lenses regularly, I liked Oakleys and for fishing I liked Action Optics. A good manufacterer should warranty their glasses even against breakage of any type. If I scratched my sunglasses (Oakley or Actions) I would just break them in two and get a new pair. Most manufacterers charge a nominal handling fee now.

I'm a huge believer in quality optics. Whether sunglasses, prescription glasses, field glasses (binoculars and spotting scopes), or rifle/pistol scopes. You can always see the quality from the cheap and you will never be sorry you bought a quality pair of glasses,,, unless you lose them! I also look for shatter proof or even safety glass rated. I've seen what a fast moving object can do to your eyes.

Costa Del Mars-$150 worth every penny. I've had 'em since '01 and one tiny scratch on 'em. *I swear I can put them on at home and see the bo's in 11-mile-
