Bonny Lake Res. was stocked with Freshwater Drum from Kansas in 1951, and they still list them as one of the species in there.

As The_Mad_Catter mentioned, the 17 lb. 3 oz. state record (197 was caught at Lonetree Res. but I have never seen one come out of there and I would question whether it still has any.

If you want to catch a lot of drum, you have to go east and get closer to the Missouri and Mississippi river systems. I've caught tons of them out of the Missouri.

2 years ago i was in my death trap of a boat and I floated up to an old timer in a little tin can on lone tree.* He pulled up his stringer and he had 2 wiper and a drum.* He didnt know it was but i identified it as a drum having seen photos of them.* Last year I actualy saw a live one at a catfishing seminar at the CO. boat and RV show. After seeing that fish I am confident it was a drum.* Although you may be right Walking Eagle that fish may have been the last of the mohicans. I question the strength of the population in there as well.

The population at North Sterling is pretty good. They aren't that big (or as big as they can get) but they are there. I've never caught one personally but I've seen a few go out on stringers and I've talked to folks that have thrown them back.
