Default spinney ice off

seasoned vets, does CPW move up opening day if ice is going to be off spinney sooner than apr 15?
is the CPW site always painfully slow to load for everyone else?

No, much like Quincy (another seasonal lake) it will open when it's open, and not before.

Kinda lame, but that gave all those pike some time to feed on trout, and get a little bigger over the winter.

I intend to introduce myself to several of those pike as near opening as I can get my butt up there.

I'm pretty sure they make the decision as the ice starts to melt, but it won't be open until the ice is totally off the entire lake. Depends on what kind of spring we have, but I'd venture to guess it will be open before the middle of April. Second week of April is my guess, which is basically the middle of April, but I'd guess it will be open before the 15th. See yas there!!

Rob keeps a close eye on this, sign up at his website and you'll get an email almost as soon as the dow announces the opening.
