Default Windy Gap

Howdy . I 'am a new member from Texas with a past membership that I could never find again , So I made myself a new one. Thank's for allowing me back in . I was born in Colorado and fished Colorado from my youth till around 1979 . 30yrs. Then I moved to Texas and still resides here . Retired and we visit Colorado at least once a year for a month . I always try to do a bit of trout fishing . Bad shoulders so I have a bit of trouble fly fishing but I do it , It aint Pretty but I try. .......... I was wonder if the bank fishing is accessible, and any good from Windy gap reservoir . Last year I tried fishing Grandby from a rented pontoon and the current plumb tore me up . I will be in Colorado July and August fishing and visiting your wonderful state. Hayden Steamboat , Hot Sulpher Springs , Denver area . be looking for you on the water. I will be the one cussing and throwing my gear all around . Thanx

I've fished Texas for over 30 yrs-Texoma, Fork, Conroe, PK and on and on. You're smart to come here in July/Aug. There is a publication that lists many fishing spots in Denver and the CPW puts out a weekly fishing report that is mostly worthless but will give you an idea of places to go.

We have some decent bass fisheries here and walleye as well.

Thanks Kirbydog and Slayer The lake that you mentioned Fork, I fished Lake fork the first year it opened.and a few years after For the most part I fished Toledo Bend and farm ponds for my bass fishing . I did a lot of Saltwater fishing . I worked Offshore and when we were not working we fished Red Snapper and Grouper , Grouper over 150 lbs in the early to mid 1980's . But I do like trout fishing with Pautzke's Balls O' Fire Green Label , Small red devil red and white “spoon , and a fly and a bubble , and I'm trying to learn to fly fish . Most of my fishing for trout was north west Colorado around Hayden and the Yampa river. Be looking for y'all on the water .

It was a special time when Fork first opened-I fished it a few years after it opened in a 12 ft aluminum boat. Hit so many stumps the rivets started to fail and I had to pull the drain plug and motor around to get the water out of it every half hour.

Those were the days.

Howdy! I moved here from Clear Lake (Houston) and a coworker gave me this site it’s my bible. You can filter out what types of fish, stocked, everything and it’s by CPW so it’s pretty legit. They have an App version also. Good Fishin’ post some pics
