I'm calling BS.
Does anyone have experience with this?

Other than placing another battery and possibly pulling new wire... it ain't rocket surgery... and would create ZERO electrical problems! I simply call 'em like I see 'em.
I guess I am reading it differently. "installing a 24V trolling motor on the system he currently has" to me means trying to run a 24V on the two batteries in the boat - using the starting battery with one other battery. Which could cause problems (dead battery) when trying to start. Would also likely cause interference if he is trying to run sonar as well.
Finding room for another battery is a separate subject - it is not part of his current system.
I'm not saying that I agree that it can't be done, but I would agree that it shouldn't be done unless you are able to add another battery, and since I don't know about the boat in question, I don't know how easy that would be, and if it would cause other issues (like the weight issue I mentioned earlier).
