I like a speed boat for fishing because you can get where you want to go quickly, especially off the water when storms come in.
I got a speed boat for that very reason. Granby gets nasty quick and the I'm usually at the far end of where I park the trailer. My old pontoon boat moved against the wind with all the gusto of a ferris wheel.
I've searched Google for pics of a trolling motor on a swim deck with no luck. Same for Youtube. Apparently I'm the first idiot that wants to trick out a speed boat for fishing.
I called Bass Pro and the guy told me if I mount it to a swim deck "everything will be backwards." Does the shaft not allow one to spin the controls? I'm obviously very new at this! Need answers but I don't live anywhere near a boat motor retailer so I can't exactly kick any tires. Plus, I'm hoping to save some money by buying used/Craigslist. Since I wouldn't be able to return such a purchase I need to know exactly what I'm looking for before buying.
Thanks for the help!
