Default New York Lake Holy Cross

Saw that there’s a post up about this from a few years back. Wondering if anyone has fished this lake within the past few years, and has any reports.
As far as it goes for people who have done this hike... how difficult was it? My main concern is the initial ridge descent from above treeline into the valley about 2/3 of a mile into the hike. For anyone who has done it, what was this like? Was it dangerous? Thanks guys

I hear it's a brutal hike. And the fish ain't nothing special.
