Default Midday at Horsetooth

The wife and I have been going up to Horsetooth the last few weeks, but due to prior commitments cant get there before about 10 am. Fishing on the east side casting to the bank with topwater lures hasn't been good. Can the great minds of this forum recommend what types of lures/plastics/baits I ought to be using to fish between about 10 am and 3 pm?

Mid-day anywhere this time of the year is always slow.

If you are working from a boat or float tube try plastics like tubes or gulp minnows in/around the rocks hoping/popping them as they touch bottom. Find the drop-offs and work the edges. Slow and methodical is the key. Water temps are up and fish aren't going to chase very far.

If you are shore bound you can do the same but be prepared to lose some tackle.

I've always had better luck fishing the west end of the lake.

I’ll try tube jigs and Ned rigs on the bottom this Monday. We have a boat. Love the west side of the lake, since we can pop into a cove, anchor and have a sandwich.

Huck to the cliffs near the coves. Pop and drop down along the rocks and the bass will grab it.

I was up there a few weeks ago on my float tube in south bay. Did fairly well for Smallmouth on ned rigs.

I'd like to know too😁. I recently moved about a half a mile as the Crow flies to horsetooth, I've explored a little bit and caught some good blue Gill
