So....when's this casting comp happening? I'd love to throw down and see what rods throw for equal equipment(reel, line, bait) vs customs.

The gauntlet had been thrown, but no one picked it up... But it looks like you are picking it up now. It could be an interesting scientific experiment. I might even join the fun.

Lets do it at the iceshanty get together! I expect to get crushed by the big and strong guys like Slayer and Z.... Even so, everyone can try my equipment, to see how they like it.

Damn AO if Slayer is tall in your eyes you must belong to the Lollipop Gang. Slayer is no more then 5'9" Pollock lol

When's this and where's this? I have some rods built with different guide setups on the same blanks, it's fun to see what a guidetrain difference does to casting.

Normally, I would say that girth trumps length, but not in this case. It doesn't take that much strength to cast average lures.

Sure it does. Let's say you have two guys who have exactly the same casting technique. The only difference is one is really strong and the other is really weak. Which one will cast farther?

The faster you can accelerate and stop the rod the farther the lure goes.

I said "that much strength." You are taking it to the extreme ("really strong" vs "really weak"). But you are absolutely right, it's all about speed. The biggest guys aren't usually the fastest as excessive mass will impede speed...
