New Saltless/Scentless Possibilities??

I was at BPS today and found two brands of plastics that I believe to be saltless/scentless.

First is Kalin's.
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...r=13048&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults

I got the "Lunker Grubs" which I do not think have salt. They pass the scratch test- put one in my mouth and it did not taste salty at all.

The second brand I found was Charlie Brewer's Sliders.
I got the slider grub in Chartreuse/Black:

And the original Slider worm in Pumpkin:

Does anyone know if anything about these? Am I wrong about them being saltless/scentless? Like I said, I scratched AND tasted them and I think they are good to go. I will check with the rangers at Quincy tomorrow.

I know it is hard to find saltless/scentless options so I thought I would pass this along...

Whats with everyone wanting unscented plastics?
Because soft plastics that contain salt or fish attracting scent are deemed to be "bait" and not "artificial" lures under Colorado's fishing regulations. You need the unscented and unsalted ones to be legal at places like Quincy and Pella Crossing, for instance, where fishing is permitted only with artificial flies and lures and "bait" is prohibited.

I think Donald mentioned it at one time...but I was in Gander Mountain the Aurora store on Thursday (June 7) and they have a whole end cap of Maniac Custom Plastics...with NO SALT/NO SCENT clearly displayed on the label...being the tackle compulsive shopper that I am...I bought a few...

Throw the salted plastics (bait ::)) in once or twice and you can't tell the difference between non and salted. Maybe if you sucked on the tails....

The salt thing is crazy, the only thing it can do is maybe kill the human scent from our hands...
I can see the gulp and powerbait plastics but it is salt for gods sake!!! Had to get that off my chest

Thanks lol

Hey bferg,

Were you able to check with the ranger at Quincy on the Lunkers? I picked up some Slug-Go today as the guy at BPS thought they were unsalted/unscented. Just wondering what you found out. I'm really trying to find something that has a bit more weight to get into the weeds.

Then I talked to Tommy at BPS about drop shotting and he turned me on to some XPS Hand-Poured Drop Shot Worms. Said they are also unsalted/unscented. He says he uses them at Quincy as well. I will check with the ranger before I take them out.

The BPS XPS handpoured and Fin-S-Fish are great for bass, perch and trout at the Q. Especially larger fish. I also dropshot unsalted, unscented 2 inch tubes and other same-sized plastic creatures, normally found in the crappie section of the big box stores.

Right now, jumbo perch at the Q are really hitting dropshotted 3 inch white streamers.

Anyone else out there that targets big perch?

Hey:
I did not get a chance to check with the ranger...sorry. I was in such a rush to fish! But I did catch a bass on the new paddle tail I bought. They are cheaper than the Maniacs I believe.

I investigated those lures mure and talked to a couple of other people and everyone said they are saltless/scentess so I feel confident taking them out there. They pass the scratch test and I bit into them. No salt taste at all...
