Default which type of smelly jelly?

So I'm very new to fishing, but have definately been having fun with the places I've been around so far (mostly because I've actually been catching them!).* I'll be up at Rampart Reservoir this coming weekend, and would like to try and catch a lake trout.* From my searching around for info, I'll be trying some tube jigs.*

Sounds like I should put on some sucker meat, or coat it in smelly jelly.* So went to pick up some of the smelly jelly stuff, and didn't realize it comes in like 5-10 different scents.* *What would be the appropriate scent to get?

Side question... when someone says a 2" tube, is that for the whole length, or just the main body (not including the "dangles")?

And any other particular advice relative to Rampart or catching lake trout in general would be welcome too.*

Thanks!

Try Nitro grease from Eagle Claw. The stuff works great for me. Bernie
