Default You can't have a float tube at Gross...

but being that a pontoon is a multi chambered inflatable craft, can you have it?

I don't know.* Here's their other reg. that might come into play:

Body/Water Contact: No body contact with water is permitted. Swimming, wading and diving are prohibited

Thanks Don you always have a good word for me. I have a call into the DOW Gross individual, I'll post what I learn. The body contact is what I'm curious about. I use my flippers a lot, but I won't be wading, swimming or diving...unless a muskie pulls me overboard. I do know you need a life vest and whistle.

If they say yours is legal, please ask them about a multi-chambered device like an Outcast float tube. It's not a belly boat. You sit "on" it rather than "in" it, but your feet, legs and butt are in the water. I probably know the answer but it never hurts to ask.

Thanks!

I have posted this before, but here it goes again, lol! I talked to the curator of Gross last year (kind of like the "sheriff" of the lake, hell of a nice guy!), and asked him the same question.) His answer, and he otta know, was, yes, a dual chambered pontoon boat is legal there, as long as you do not put your feet in the water, ie. use flippers,* (don't want to upset the fine folks in Boulder that drink the water,* .)

I'll probably be there on Sat. morning with my toon. Just not looking forward to the freezing morning temps and the almost frozen water. Bundle up.
