Default Horsetooth

I'm heading to Horsetooth tomorrow to try for some smallies on the fly rod. I have fished it a few times and will be in my belly boat. I have fished Inlet Bay by the marina and heading out to the main lake and also Santanka. I have never caught them on a fly and am anxious to try. I picked up some clousers and crayfish and buggers and poppers for my arsenol. I'm thinking that should do the trick. I haven't fished streamers much or fly fished a lot of still water so any advice on techniques locations or what not would be appreciated.
Thanks much

With this heat I think it might betought to catch the smallies on a fly. I have been catching deep off the points in about 20 to 30' of water.

Good luck

I would reccommend the coves accessed through Lory State park over inlet or Santaka myself. Lot more fishable areas and most is wakeless. I don't go for them on the fly, but I hear of people using clousers for both smallies and eyes. There are also some crappie and bluegill back in those coves. GL.

Not sure of your set up......but definately use sinking fly lines.....unless you fish at night when the fish come up shallower.
