stick to the inlet around night with crawdads or other catfish baits. very productive sometimes. otherwise, keep casting and moving.

Ive tried Union many many many times...and although i know theres cats in there i cant seem to ever catch one. i would try the far side if i was in a boat, if you find an inlet stick to that....or work the shallows near the cattails.

Union can be very frustrating at times....

ive done pretty good there for wipers in the past, but have never fished it for cats, ive herd that there are some good ones in there, i looked at it on google earth and it seems there is a little inlet on the north end that has a huge flat right next to the channel, so ithink i will try there first untill the madcatter gets off of work at 1230, and then i will let him piolt the boat to some of his honey holes, so maybe with a little luck and some secert bait we can get some pics for every body! thanks for the info!

I dont think I will take the DBM to the south inlet, it is not running. When the water shuts off the cats vamanos to the S.E. and North shore. Prolly hit the ditch in the N.W. corner if it is flowing. I hope we get into them tonight I need to break the 20LB mark for the year!!! Union is definatley a place to do it

bassman, the inlet to the north is okay not really a good place other than to troll for wipers trying to avoid the slaughter. sometimes cats hang out at union in the sorriest placest. take for the instance the pier. good luck to you, hope you get the wipers instead cause my luck there is starting to wear thin.

I put a lot of time into that north flat, and never caught a damn thing. It looks like they should come up there on paper, but nothing. I'm not saying don't give it a shot. In fact give it a shot and prove me wrong! I have heard of good action all along the west bank, but have not enjoyed that either. I have found this whole lake to be a pain in the ass, there are good fish in it though, there are even walleye. find them!
