I wouldn't think so, as long as the glowstick rod doesn't have a hook on it.

The DOW says, "Artificial light is legal as a fishing aid." So, I would imagine that it would be alright. However, to avoid any confusion, hassle. I'd probably attach them to anything but a fishing rod. But, it sounds as if you're well within your rights to do so.

Based on what I have read on rangers/officers..........they probably don't even know. At a minimum it would be based on the personal opinion of the officer.

Wasn't sure, I just want to be able to cast it out farther to keep the loud people from scaring the fish that the light attracts.

Just wondering, but you want to cast out a big bunch of glowsticks to attract fish? Or something else?

That's a cool idea, especially if it works. You could throw out a big waterproof light too.

I don't know what he's fishing for, but cats and crappies seem to be attracted to light at night from my experience.

I want to put the lights out in the water so I can attract the baitfish and then fish for crappies around the lights, that way I'm not trying to catch fish around the shore where people will sh ow up and try to fish on top of you when you are catching fish, its rather annoying when you get overrun and its loud to boot.

Hey Koldkut, I talked to a lady from the DOW and she checked with a couple of field officers, and then called me back. They told her that as long as there is no terminal tackle hooked to that particular rod, you're fine. Just expect to be checked if they see three poles in the water. So go ahead and give it a try.

Hope this helped. Good Luck! Good Fishing!

Sweet, I'll have to try that someday, its a morning trip this saturday to get out there and fish it up then be out by the time it gets hot. I want to get some fly action going, with the depth of the place I think the flyrod with sinking line was the wrong want to go out there, just slower with the shooting head that I got, may have my new emeral matrix 9' 6wt by then to see how much I like the fast rod over the slow rod.
