Default Anyone Pike Fishing?

Haven't been yet this year, but I want to get off the front range and do something different this weekend. Anyone targeting them right now?

I think as the temps rise the pike will be going deep, so personally i think they are harder to catch now then in sping and fall. Stagecoach and rifle are great pike fisheries. If you are going to use bait make sure to bring some down from the front range, i dont even know where to buy any up in the mountains, or western slope. I would guess big spinner baits would work if you can get them deep.
good luck!!

* * I'm trying to get ready to head to WF in the morning for a while for pike. This time of year can actually be pretty good if you know where to look.* A couple tips: early morning look shallow in the shadows of the weed beds, later in the day look at the sharp drop offs going deeper.
* * Good luck and catch fish!!!

Look for weedlines around inlets/outlets & weedlines in general. And yes this time of year they will be moving deeper w/ the exception of early morn. late eve or they may stack up on ledges during high wind periods to feed on stacked up baitfish.

I find that the best month for me to catch Pike is in late August or early Sept. I tore them up at Spinney last year.

If your'e going to Stagecoach and going thru Granby, you can pick up frozen suckers at Budget Tackle. He also has some less expensive spinners.
