Re: Re-Charging Deep Cycle Batteries
It's never good to let any battery go completely dead before re-charging, however deep cycles will handle it much better than auto batteries. Unless a glass mat or gel type battery, sulfates will develop on the plates of an acid filled battery that's allowed to go dead, reducing the storage capacity of your battery. Ideally, re-charge immediately after using. Also, if you purchase a float charger, you can leave your batteries hooked up at all times and it will automatically kick in when a sitting battery drains, keeping your battery at full capacity at all times.
