Default Is this a walleye?

I know I asked this before but there are a lot more people on here now.

This was caught 3 Marches ago at Chat. This fish looks like an eye but it was white and purple with dark purple spots?

Can this be anything other than an eye?

I would say it's an eye Jay...has the white tip on the tail. I've also caught alot out of Chatty that were just like yours, real silvery but taste GREAT!!!

My brother caught that one jigging. Ive never got an eye that didn't have that gold color to it.

It sure looks like the Saugeye Hobiecat posted. Bars on the tail, dorsal fin and all. I bet fish get mixed up in the rearing pens now and then. I'm voting for Saugeye, and if I win I'll split the pot with Hobiecat.

Yeah, the only question I'd have is the spots on the tail, dorsal fins and anal fin. *Seems to be a hybrid. *Check out the link Jay and read about the spots that form rows under Walleye identification. *You'll just have to scroll down a little. *It says those spots aren't present in walleyes. *Tell me what you think. *I think we win TALO!*

Not sure about that, that black spot on the dorsal fin is a dominant walleye characteristic.

But...
I do know that this IS a walleye!

I don't know about that, that looks like it's probably your son wearing a blue vest and a giant smile....Oh, you mean that huge walleye he's holding up. Really nice fish buddy.

Z, are you just trying to confuse us? *I can see the dark splotch at the rear of the dorsal fin, but you, as the "fairest moderator on the board," * should make the call. *
