Default Anybody ever seen this junk?

I got this pike last week and it had this yellow orangish goo in it that bled like crazy after being netted never seen it before.

Can't really tell. Might be some type of infection in a wound that could've been caused by treble hooks rolling over it's back. Just a guess though. It only started bleeding after coming into contact with your net?

I've seen the same type of thing on cats during the spawn...Puncture wound of some sort...You didn't mention the lake...But, if it's the one I think it is and I could be wrong ...no snagging there...But, like longdraw said, a large treble could do the same thing...

I wasn't trying to be secritive, it was Spinney, but we did fish eleven mile too. Kokes were still deep but the trout were easy as usual. Went with one of my buddies who loves to catch slimers so we fished them a bit and probably caught a bakers dozen in a day all rainbows about twenty inches.I actually got that pike there, my biggest of the trip fishing for trout, figures, silly Co. fish.

Yeah... I didn't think you were...but, didn't want to say unless you did. I know you were just asking about the wound and I didn't think it could have been caused by a snagging hook there...although a snagging hook could do the same thing.. Good job on all of the fish.

* * Greg.... I've been getting a lot of torn up pike out of the Mile lately. By torn up I mean what looks like they were attacked by bigger pike with teeth marks and bleeding wounds all over their body. Some of the wounded pike we've brought in were over 20 inches so there you know how big of pike that are still in there!!!

* * * * Good catch and lets get together!!
