I was hoping to find out some information on who makes the equipment sold by both the local and nationwide retail stores. Can anyone help fill in the blanks? I can update this post as we go.

Here's some interesting information....St. Croix makes a lot of Private Branded rods for other companies..including Orvis, Zebco, Cabelas...Companies that just slap their labels on St. Croix products....So next time you pay more for an Orvis...you might just want to check out a St. Croix...Or even a Zebco....

Ganders is rather closely guarded. I do know that their older guide series fly rods were infact GL2 blanks. I have confirmed this from when I worked there and I have one to show. There was also rumor that the EARLY 2000 rods were shimano blanks but I am not 100% sure.

Cabelas reels some are made by Daiwa

BPS is pflueger

BPS-Since they are primarily about price point items, I would be very surprised if any of their BPS brand rods are from anywhere other than independent Korean or China factories that make them to spec.
Which essentially is what the Pflueger reels are as well-likely their entire line comes from 2-3 different Asian factories.

Same goes for Cabela's.

Many of Cabelas reels are made by Daiwa. You can even set many side by side and see exact duplicates with just minor differences (cosmetic or internal).

I was told by a Daiwa rep, that there are only 8 manufacterers of graphite rod blanks in the world. All rod manufacterers get their blanks from one of those manufacterers, build the rod and put their name on it.
(I could be wrong on the number 8, at any rate, it's not alot of manufacterers out there)

I've really fallin in love with BPS rods. Way better than Cabelas rods and I even prefer them to St Croix.

I'm sure most all equipment is at least partially made in Asia, if not entirely made over there.

Bass Pro Shops owns Browning fishing division, not the hunting. Found that out when I bought a fly rod from them.
