Chatfield would be the first lake I will probably put my boat on this spring (in the Denver metro area)

Don't know about the metro area, but Horsetooth Lake is often open around the end of February or first week in March.

I think CC usually is. Chatty's west cove/boat ramp can stay locked up a tand longer being as it's in the south end of the little cove and the south ramp being on the south end of the lake.

CC's ramps are a little more prone to recieve good sunlight.

Of course, there is nothing guaranteeing anything.

The trout bite can be super good at CC at ice off, Walleye bite sucks though, IMO.

I put my boat on Carter last year before any of the metro lakes thawed and were open to boating. Early March I believe.

12% means nothing to the fish when they don't know how it used to be. I'll be down there with rod in hand to catch some saugeyes, walleyes, crappie, catfish, ands bass that they put in there the past 3 years.
