It would be a shame to see Bonny drained. Kansas won the law suite with Colorado over water we sold them years ago and never really gave them. Colorado paid Kansas a hefty check at that time. We have the oldest and most complex water law in the country. Most lawyers hang up the phone when water is mentioned. I think at the time we sold Kansas the water, the consensus was we would never run out of it. Oh well.

I agree, I think we need more reservoirs. I think all water goes out of this state, none runs in. Lets try and keep more of it here, I say. But then I guess we sold water years ago not knowing any better.

Its all cyclic and it does not seem matter where you live. Enjoy it when you can.

I'll admit up front that I'm not near intelligent enough to better the water laws. They say everything can be improved. If thats true maybe some smart young person can help us out here. We had a heavy drought here for 5 or more years, could not fill the reservoirs. Last year they did fill and the snow on the western slope is impressive so far. We have another storm coming in tonight, should help some more.
