Default Curing Salmon Roe????

Do you guys cure the roe you get from the salmon for your spawn sacs?

If you dont want to hassle with the row bags and just cut squares and use a egg loop(knot) than curing it is the way to go.

Cured salmon roe only works for salmon. Trout prefer the real thing. I've tied and used prolly 10,000 egg sacs. They work.

A couple of years ago I read that cures egg sacks work much better than than uncured eggs. I would cure the eggs, add colored beads to mimic embryos, and tie them up into sacks. Never really worked well for me although three years ago I was fishing very shallow (3') at Granby and something cruised by and just about yanked the rod out of my hand. This year I didn't cure any so i am going to compare catch rates.
