Default soft plastic scent questions

so i have some soft plastic i wanna use at a artificial fly and lure only lake, wondering if the plastic is salted and then washed off , and the packaging says nothing and it doesnt smell like anything other than plastic is this ok to use i mean the company simply dumps a little table salt on these things and they dont refer to it as scented in anyway

They don't "just dump salt on" its in the plastic bite into one I'll bet it still has salt in it. That being said no you can't use them in fly & lure only waters.

no you cannot... they are change the regulations to allow it on some fly and lure waters but as of right now you still cannot, legally.

Quicsilver, you can check to see if the company simply rolled the baits in salt, or actually included it in the plastic when they were poured by breaking one in half and tasting it. A lot of companies add salt to the baits because it adds weight, and also because some folks think that the bass will hold onto the lure longer when they bite into something salty.

The law is a joke. Its about to change. The CDOW has not equally enforced it since its introduction!

The law MIGHT change but it has not YET so be careful. Almost ALL soft plastics are salt impregnated- which means the salt is IN the plastic. (This is true for Senkos, all Zoom products, most BPS products)

You can tell if the lure is salt impregnated by scratching the side of the lure with your thumb. If there is salt in the plastic you will see it...

Just in case you don't like tasting your lures!
