Default Cabelas Jointed Rad Shads.

Anyone used the Cabelas version of the jointed shad raps?

If so, do they run true as Rapalas? Do you feel they are an OK replacement for the true Rapalas?

Wow. Looks like Cabelas is incapable of feeling shame.

The fact that they chose to copy the jointed Shad Rap sort of justifies my own choice of same as a go-to lure. But I don't feel any urge to go running to them for their knock-offs when I can fish with the real thing.

I guess the old adage is true, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Rapala is king for sure. I probably have the equivalent of a new car invested in Rapalas.

Yep worked for Cabela's, tried almost all of their lure products. Fisherman series (Red package) stuff is kinda junky, DOES NOT RUN TRUE....... maybe that was a little harsh, 1 in 1000 run true. Cabelas Real Image Jointed shads (Blue package) with Gamakatsu hooks are def. worth the money, good walleye/LMbass bait. In all fairness though, Rapala is and always will be the best. Dont skimp out and save a buck on a lure, because the lure aint worth spit if it doesnt catch fish.

BTW, Cabela's plastics I do rate pretty high, tough, good design features and patterns.

I have had a few problems with cabelas minnow baits not running true. That being said, I am not a huge fan of the action on rapala's (non-jointed) minnows. As far as shad and jerk baits, Rapala is great, and I find it tough to save a couple bucks unless the performance is there. With a jointed bait, it is more likely that the action will be good on these lures. The finish looks decent. These are probably good baits, but not likely all that a Rap is...

Precisely why I posted this question,,,,

I don't care to save the money if the lures don't run as well as true rapalas.
If these lures do, which sometimes Cbelas and BPS have good lures,, it would be a good buy at the price they have.

For that price give them a try! $2.50 each isn't bad.
