Default What will you be fishing for as soon as the ice melts?

For me I am going to be working the Chatfield dam at night to target some early prepawn walleyes.

If the water is not too cold, I will be going to Aurora in my new pontoon.

It will be nice when the ice melts since I haven't fished in over 2 months.

Since the places I want to fish vary big time in elevation, it's going to be whatever ices out first.....

Chatty, Lon Hagler, Lonetree, Sterling/Jackson/Union/P-lo (for wipers),

then I start climbing elevation as the ice gets off on the high mtn lakes. I might even make a late season ice trip to one of those.

Everything but trout, any trout (unless I'm Jefferson). Would really like to get into bass, walleye and wiper and maybe some cats.

I'll be hitting Cherry Creek as much as posible. Yes I know it's not very well liked. However the 1st CWA Ice Breaker(no points)Tournament will be held there on, I believe April 27th. These Walleye Pro's go out there every year and catch a lot of Walleye's. I would like to catch fish like that just once ! You also do not need to be a member for this tournament, although it's a great club to have a membership in ! Check em out at :

Trolling for Macks in Jefferson and Green Mountain. The spillway at Chatty. And some eyes at Chat too.

I will try to catch my first Eye this spring...at Chatfield, Aurora, and Cherry Creek
but most likely I will get tired of not catching anything and you will find me at Quincy catching some Bass!!
