Default chatfield spillway

does anybody know if the spillway is open yet? and if so, any luck so far?

didn't fish it but it is open from just above the dog park. Saw some guys fishing off the pier thing. Don't know if they caught anything.

I saw open water down there, but I don't think water is gushing through right now.

I think its only a pond right now, at least thats what it looked like from the highway.

It is very low right now. Once they open the gates it will restock the river two ways. First the fish sucked out of the lake will be there to get clobbered again. Then the increase in volume and current will bring fish back upriver towards the dam.

Never fished it, and with last years reports, it's probably gonna be combat fishin for sure this year...so never will.

It won't be as good this year anyway! Crowd wise it not to bad if you fish real late. I fished mostly from 10 PM to Midnight last year.

That damn place was packed 24/7! I showed up at 1:30 AM one morning and there was about 30 people out there and they never left. To many folks crossing lines and not knowing how to night fish for me. I dont want to punish anyone with the 50 llb braid tug of war so I will stay away from that train wreck.
