pueblo conditions 2/15
this lake continues to amaze, the water levsl this week is 4874.01 up 1.35 feet from last weeks 4872.66, it just keeps gitting better and better. the west end is spreading out and covering the tamarisk forrest that will be almost impenetrable to git a lure into, but if you do git one down into it, the fish will be there. gitting one out of there will be the challange, i think a lot of our local stores will be out of 80 lb test braid. i think the best lure will be a ball head jig with an aberdeen hook that will bend, tipped with a worm or creature bait. the back end of the south marina cove, will hold a ton of fish, but the tamarisk is 15 to 20 feet tall, i have hunted back there and you couldn't walk through the tamarisk with out gitting on your hands and knees. this will be a great place for walleyes, if you can find a hole in the brush. also boggs flat is now covered with water, and in the past it was good fishing for wipers, by casting into the channels between the brush, a small castmaster in silver, worked real good. the down side of all that flooded brush is that the shad will have a great place to reprodice and there will be more shad than ever, so the wipers, walleyes and bass will have more food than ever, the plus side is that it will be harder for them to catch the shad, with all that cover, so they might be more receptive to lures run just over the top of the brush. i know that i have been putting in a good supply of the lures that i use, and will be pouring jig heads and making up spin-n-glows. till next week may you all have tight lines.
