I'm feeling the itch for some lake trout.

friend of mine just nailed some lakers from shore there - dont have details yet.

My Dad lives in Salida and said he saw open water with a little ice drifted to the east side about a week ago. I would say it is good to go by now. Look for the number of a tackle shop in Leadville I can't remember the name, but they will give you an update.

www.HiRocky.com They have weekly updates for Twin Lakes, The forbay and the surrounding area. Very good place for Twin lakes area reports.

Saw on the news last night highway 82 was closed and business was dead up there.

Twin lakes is completely free of Ice, turquoice is still frozen solid. I was up there yeaterday the 26th.

I'm going to try Twin Lakes and Forebay tomorrow. I'll let you know how it worked out.

I'll be using bubble and Montera's Marvels.
