Default Fort Carson fishing

I know i have had a few people ask me bout the fishing on Fort Carson and how it is. Here are some pics from last year when we went for cats.

The pics were taken with a phone so they aren't the greatest. We caught two of them like this both in the middle of the day. Each were about 9.5 to 10lbs. Used some chicken liver. and they smashed it all day. the next day, unfortunately no pics of this, went out in the aluminum boat and pulled in 20 4 lbers on liver and nightcrawlers.

Thats pretty nice... I dont know how you keep those little 8 inchers off your line. Which pond you fish at Haymes or Townsend?

i went to Haymes. that is actually the only one i go to. As i was tellin kodiak last night i have pulled out some 9 lb largemouth bass and unfortunately they both swallowed the hooks so we kept them rather than lettin them rot.

Is Ft. Carson open to the public for fishing? How many places to fish are there? I'm only aware of Teller reservoir which has a nasty fish consumption advisory out on it.

Yes you have to buy an onpost fishing license for 20$ there are 3 ponds that are worth fishing and out of the 3, 2 seem to produce decent fish occasionally.

My son has caught some decent gills out of Haymes lots in the 8-10 inch range so if you eat panfish it would be worth it.
