Default line preferance for wormin!

ok this whole summer I have been trying diferent setups for line on my spinning tackle, specifically for weightless worming, I finally figured out my baitcaster line for jig and pig, 90% of the reel braid and 10% flouro leader, Anybody have any advice, my buddy tells me to just go straight to braid and it seems to work good for him, but I guess I'm just hard headed

You've got it right! Flouro leader unless it is REALLY stained. Even then, I'd rather not leave 30-40 ft. of braid in the water if you get hung up. Gap hooks and plastics are cheap....it's nice to just break off at the leader/braid connection if you have to.

Braid all the way.. on my spinning I use 10lb Power Pro... More often than not it breaks at the knot if snagged.. but it is very difficult to break(even only being 10lb). Dont try and wrap it around your hand and break it unless you want cuts! Throwing my 2c on here... even though Loaf is my fishing buddy

You need to put up that Bass Masters photo BTW!! That thing is awesome!!

Really I want the template!!

I go with straight braid as well. Ive used floro leaders, but only in really clear water situations where your getting follows but no takers. Also in those situations I change worm colors first before I put on a leader. I use 20/8 in thick situations and 10/4 in sandy scattered weed situations.

I usually use 6lb stren low vis green mono.  I guess it's just what I'm used to, I've been using power pro plus a leader this year with some ups and downs. With the mono you just need to watch your line for those subtle hits, it will "tick" as they call it, hard to describe to someone but once you see it and recognize it, you don't forget.

Tick or almost look like the wind is blowing it to either side or towards you... I am familiar... I always give them an extra second or two and then sternly set the hook its not a reaction strike, more of a subtle mouthing.
