Default new to trout fishing... lure recommendations

looks like i'm finally gonna get out and do some trout fishing.... i'll be using light spinning tackle at a highland clear water lake west of colorado springs and was wondering what types of spoons or in-line spinners seem to work best and what sizes and weights give better action for the highland lakes.

i'll be using 6lb. flourocarbon

i am familiar with kast masters... any color/size recommendations for those?

thanks guys

we are going after your average trout... not some monster laker's that weigh 30lbs.

i guess what i'm really interested in is whether or not trout will go after bigger lures or do you really need to downsize to get their attention

a 1/16th oz panther martin or a 3/8 ounce?

is size an issue or just using a heavy enough weight to fish the depth you want?

will trout eat anything they can fit in their mouth or do they prefer small easy meals?

thanks

I'd get a mixed bag of sizes and colors of those panther martins, mepps, and blue fox lures. Depends on the day and size of trout in terms of size of lure! The number 2s are good--you can catch small to mediums on those. I probably wouldn't go over a size 4. Plain silver and firetiger have been good to me. Kastmasters, for trout I like the brown trout pattern, the holographic silver, and the plain silver. I'd go 1/4 ounce on those, 1/8 ounce if the fish are less than say 12 inches. Let me know if you find a place that has those kastmasters in stock and don't tell anyone else please. Original floating rapalas are good, firetiger, brown trout, rainbow trout. I will also endorse the Taz devils. Pink has been good to me lately.
