Default Hook size....?

What size hooks do you guys use for Senkos? I am new to worm fishing....I used a 5" Senko yesterday and I used a 2/0 hook and missed every hit. Maybe a bigger hook size?

I use a 3/0 on the 5 in senkos and also 10.5 in worms... Dont really miss to many. With the plastic senkos and worms you definetly have to give them a second or two with the bait before you set the hook!

I use 2/0 EWG's for 5" worms. No problems here. Must be pilot error!

Yep, you have to wait a sec (but not too long) to hammer the hook home. I use 2/0 on 5-6" worms. I also make sure the hook point is out of the bait just a bit. Make sure the hooks are sharp.
Its also possible, especially in this state, that a trout or some other smaller fish was messin with the bait, and just nippin on it.

I use 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 hooks for worms and frogs. Offset, wide gap, Gamagatsku (butchered spelling I'm sure LoL).

Hahah! Yeah, especially the Bluegill... they like to pull baits around and bite the tails off of some of my stuff!!
I also caught a 11in Crappie off of a 5in Senko! Guess he was hungry.....

Dang gills love eating tails, talk about getting ticked off, nothing like going through a whole bag of plastics cause the tails keep getting bit off!
