Default Can anybody hook me up for Boulder?

My son has a hockey game in Boulder on Saturday and it's late in the day. That gives us all day to fish before heading to the rink.

I'd really like to get into some nice sized perch as I haven't caught a decent one in years. Barring that, trout or non-bass works for me. I'm not really a green carp hater, just don't have any real experience with them and don't feel like buying a lot of plastics.

Cats would be fine if they'll bite before 5:00 PM.

We're driving from the springs and we'll be shore fishing.

Any tips appreciated.

TIA,
Stan

try boulder creek, you can access the creek from just about any area near the university. its artificial lures only though. or if you son is young enough, you might want to check out kids ponds, i used to get some big trout out of there.
if you want perch, i cant help you cause nice sized perch are almost non-existence where i fished in boulder.

There are Perch and Cats in Boulder Res. Cats seem to be biting just after sunup. Might have to weed through the smallies to get at the perch, though. PM sent on another possibility.

Just read Southplatters reply.....there is a kid's pond by the creek at 6th and Canyon that would be a good bet for Trout. Park in the Justice Center lot on the SE corner and the pond is right there.

My son is 11, so he's young enough for the kid's pond. But I want to fish too!
