Default shrimp for bait

I know some of you have used it for ice fishing kokes, and I've seen or heard people using it for catfish. What I'm wondering is whether you can use COOKED SHRIMP instead of raw. I just found a bag in the bottom of my freezer that's probably been there a few years. Figure I probably don't want to eat it, but thought it might come to good use as bait.

Ive never had luck with cooked shrimp. Chances are its freezer burned and has that freezer smell.
You might have some luck, but me personally, I wouldnt use it.

It wouldn't hurt to try it out. I'd say do what baja suggested and leave it out for a while.

Shrimp for kokes are the small little salad shrimp. The bigger cocktail shrimp are good for Cats and wipers. Same deal, leave it out, let it thaw, cook half of it and try both ways.

We hammered the Kokes last winter on shrimp. Just cut them up if they're to large.

Thanks to jamiehughes' info last year, I went to the store and bought some uncooked shrimp, cut it up (actually just tore it with my fingers mostly) and stuck it on the hook...it worked great for the kokes at dillon but I did not try it anywhere else, dunno why not.

I've found shrimp like that in my freezer, and I use it on channel cats. Works great. I let it sit out of the freezer for 1 or 2 weeks before using it though.
