It had a very reddish color and he duplicated it nicely.
wow thats a beautiful mount right there! Thanks again for the info guys! So can I get something that nice with out keeping the fish?
Thanks. Yes, you can get a replica mount that looks that good, although that particular ne is a 17 year old skin mount.

Back in my fish killing days in the late 80's, I had Tony Cannova do several skin mounts. They have aged very nicely.I always stop to admire others work, but have seen none better than Tony's.

The following information was posted by Trout...when I split the childish argument (take it offline in PMs) out I accidently split his post off also and couldnt get it to come back...so here is the post by Trout...sorry man...

Mike Ross in parker does great work. If you goggle his name you should be able to find out how many awards he has one. I'm pretty sure but he's the only guy to win fresh water skin mounts from colorado at some national or larger competitions. The other guys mentioned I'm sure are good but this guy is the best and he has 20 plus years of winning competitions to back it up. The few times I've been to his shop his name is always in another trade magazine with a new award. Not only will he do a great job but one heck of a nice guy.

i had the big cutbow that i caught in april done by brad haddix at http://www.alastingmemorytaxidermy.com/

he doesn't do his own fish but the fella that he has do them does an excellent job, mine was pretty much perfect even down to the spot placement.. he does do some incredible skin mount on animals also, he was working on a few when i picked my fish up in july, he has a pretty nice gallery on his website..... he was going out of the states for awhile at the time but he should be back by now, give him a shout...

Here are a few pics of some of my mounts Mike Ross has done.

27" Bow caught at 11 Mile back in 94 and still looks like I just picked it up.

25" Bow caught at 11 mile back in 2005 and you can't tell a difference between this one and the above which is around 14 years old.

Here is a double of bows from Miracle Mile caught in 95. Kind of skinny torpedos but those where the days of grand ideas of filling every inch of my basement walls up with fish and bird mounts.

Here a pheassant that about 8 years old. One of my favorites.

I have some more but can't find the pics in a file. In a few months a couple of perch should be ready and i'm having a replica of a laker done. I will post pics when I pick them up.

Go talk with jeff he is the very best he has won numerous national titles

if you go and check out his work I promise you won't be disappointed.

We have all seen those mounts that aren't done right and look cheesy

more like they belong on the wall of a red lobster resteraunt.

You want to be proud to hang this on your wall.

The guy is and artist. Your fish will become a piece of art not just a

dead fish on the wall! His fish look alive. He also is competitively priced.

It seems we all know the best guy but his name doesn't match the others.

Yep. That's okay. Taxidermy is an art and people have different tastes and preferences in fish mounts, just like painting, sculpture, music, or any other art form. I like your and Jamie's mounts, too. Very nice!
