Default Colorado Fish Taxidermy

I know there is a directory on here with info, but I want to hear from someone that has had a fish done and is happy, or a company that someone could recommend that would be great. Its not often that I would get a fish mounted, so when the time comes I want to make sure it's done right. I hope that this will give me good karma this weekend while im on the hunt for the biggun!

what is the process of preserving the fish and how good of a mount can you get with just photos and measurements of the fish?

any thoughts?

thanks!

Boondock had a pike he couldn't revive done awhile back. That thing came out awesome! JamieHughes had a trout done (not sure if it was the same guy) and that came out pretty darn nice too.

From the sounds of it, it's $8 - $15 an inch.

Can't think of any others right off the bat.

Rapidmc....

If you're interested in a hand carved and hand painted wooden fish, let's talk. I have some recent works you could take a look at and we could discuss the measurements and photos that would be used to duplicate your catch.

I think the best around is Tony Cannova. He's not cheap, but the pike I had done in 1991 looks as good today as when he did it.

It had a very reddish color and he duplicated it nicely.

That does look nice! How big is it? How much per inch?

I used to take all my fish to Tanglewood Taxidermy but they have since moved, so I had to try a new one....Big Mistake, should have driven the 200 miles to Tanglewood.
Now I have submitted my last fish to Wilderness Taxidermy which was recommended by a member on this site, It will be ready in 4-6months. Definitely take your time in picking one and DO NOT base your choice on the cheapest price that was the mistake I made. If you need phone numbers just PM me.

That fish weighed 25 lbs and I don't remember the exact length but it was around 42". I don't know what Tony's rate is per inch now for pike. If I ever get a lake trout over 40 lbs I'm going to have him do a replica.
