Default Rods/Reels.. What do you spend more $ on? Rod or Reel?

Just wondering... Do you tend to spend more money on your rod or reel? Or do you spend about the same on each?

I tend to either spend more money on my rods or spend about the same for the rod as the reel.
Also what do you spend on average per rod/reel combo?

On average my jigging/jerkbait rods are twice what my reels are. The laker setups I went with the reels are twice what the rods are. For trolling the rod/reeels are about the same.

Usually spend more on rods. Unless my workhorse reel is crapping out then I spend a bit on getting a new one. My last workhorse reel I bought was a cardinal 800 and I think I got it at cost for around $100.

Spinning fairly cheap. less than $50.00 each , usually a little more on the reel. Fly the most expensie rod you can afford coupled with whatever you feel comfortable spending for a reel. lighter the better. Sage and Gloomis fly rods are way better than that cheap sheet TFO. IMO

i fish saltwater a lot so i like to buy the more expensive rod and reel combos, usually around 250 and sometimes up to 300. my favorite is a baitcaster combo that costed 270.

TO MUCH!!!!
Rod normally....
I did buy a Shimano Chronarch MG50 this year.

I would say my average combo is in the range of $300.

Have a few in the $500 range.

My new baby here

ive got all st.croix rods, and my favorite spinning reel has to be the shimono stradic, they used to run 120 or so each but now the newest model is 160 or so, but thats the best reel for me, 150-200 for the rods, and 120-150 for the reels
the new stradic is the best reel ive ever used, dont think about how much it costs just do it

now trolling is different , my favorite rod is a 10ft whuppin stick just cause its reel flexible and gets the baits out away from you , but the reels on the other hand are a little more, i use diawa sealine line counters for trolling ive got 4 of them

Nearly 50/50 on what we spend on a reel and rod. Few more on reel but pretty close.

Also most people here spend $50-$150.

Interesting

i like high end stuff, but i go through at least four to five poles a year, so if i see a good deal i might even fish with an ugly stick! if i had to choose one, id spend my cash on the reel, make sure its a baitcastor
