Default Spinney on a comeback?

Those of you who are familiar with Spinney and it's ups and downs over the years; would you say it is on a comeback? The Pike I've seen come out of there lately seem to have more girth to them than the snakes of the past, and there doesn't seem to be any shortage of nice trout. I haven't heard many complaints this year either. What are some thoughts?

The pics of pike I have seen here lately seem to be much healthier! I wonder what they are eating My guess would be small pike?

When they started stocking 12-15 inch trout instead of smolts, it had a dramatic effect on the small Pike who couldn't eat trout that big. We were catching tons of 20-24 inch green skeletons! Something seems different now

The pike are definitely more heavy (as far as girth) than in years past, also the I believe when the DOW trapped a lot of pike back in 2002-2003 or so, and also started stocking trout in late Fall as opposed to spring it really helped the trout and pike population. They still would like the pike taken out of there, but right now I think it is a fairly balanced fishery. Hit it while it's hot!

Many of the smaller pike were harvested so the balance is better now than it was. Keep plenty of small pike and let the big ones go, because big pike help keep little pike from overpopulating.
Spinney can be managed for both pike and trophy trout. They just need to stock the trout at larger sizes (which they are doing) and have moderate harvest on small pike.
