Default bass fishing southwest CO?

hello. i will be living in norwood (east of telluride) for about 6mos this spring. the whole purpose of my stay will be to fish and expore the 4 corners. this will be my first time trout fishing as i know this is the main game fish in the area.

my question is about largemouth and smallmouth bass. what lakes and rivers would you recommend? i will be doing alot of camping so i dont mind driving out to utah, arizona or new mexico for some good bass fishing.

any advice is greatly appreciated.

cheers

Navajo is the place to go if you want bass in SW Colorado. Search previous posts from the forum this past summer and you will see.

Mcphee is good for smallies but Navajo is quite a bit better.

Echo Canyon is all right, and I know Totten has a few.

The only river in the state that has good bass fishing is the Yampa up north, and it is by far Colorado's best smallmouth fishery, if not the best smallmouth fishery in the surrounding few states.
