Default Lake Deweese..... Anybody fish it recently??

Well my buddy and I are making a trip going to try it out.

Any reports? Haven't fished in since last summer, thought we would try something different.
Hoping for some bass and maybe a lucky muskie (doubtful but I can dream right)
If those don't work out I am sure trout will be biting.

Any suggestions or just how it has been fishing?

I try and keep tabs on it as much as possible. Right now the bite is decent for rainbows and I have heard reports of the large tiger muskie hitting the stockers and chasing schools!!

I would definitely cast for some muskie......I am pretty sure that they just stocked some muskie too. If you go, make sure and get a water temp and water level. I would be very interested since I love to ice fish DeWeese.

When were you planning on going?

Cool man. Definitely let me know how it went. I love DeWeese but I haven't been able to get out there lately. I ice fished it last year and had a HUGE muskie grab a 10" rainbow I hooked. Tore the fish up pretty bad!

during the sucker run a few years back i saw many up the inlet, the dow did some habit improvements about eight years back, tangled with many big trout up there in grape creek!
good luck, keep us posted! the first fish i remember catching was from deweese it was either a pumkinseed or a blue gill, caught on a fly pole with my grandpa, he had never seen one before in his life, it was kind of cool for both of us! back in its glory days, the locals where there to target its giant German browns, My aunts father in law put me to work every summer electric probing for giant night crawlers to sell to the local angers, I wish i could go down that way more often, good luck guys!

We fished it 3 or 4 weeks ago. The water level is way down and there was alot of algae floating in the water. We trolled with a green wooley booger fly and a split shot and caught a few rainbows, but nothing big. Never tried for any tiger muskie. A guy at work said he did well from the bank bait fishing with worms last week. Hopefully the water has cleared up some. Good luck.

Thanks guys!

I hope it is clear as well. Will fish near the dam and if that is bad move towards the inlet.
