Default ElevenMile Kokanee

The DOW has decided there will be no spawntakes or giveaways at ElevenMile in 2008...due to the low number of Kokanees.

The DOW does not have any official / final data compiled at this time regarding the spawntakes in Colorado lakes.

Information is still coming in.

It will be next year before all information is complete.

Even though they were lack of numbers this year they are still in there and still healthy and still spawning. We caught kokes all through the spring and have caught many through the fall in the stream and in the reservoir. This was the biggest taken this year, he hit a tube jig in witchers cove. It was amazing. This guy went 23 inches, damn near biggest Ive ever caught.

You know it was really kinda crazy. My buddys dad told us he used to slay em in witchers cove, we ended up rolling through there on our boat a couple weeks ago on a 3 day trip. We were in there hammerin bows and pike and it was the warmest part of the lake by about 6 degrees. So the next day we went back during mid day but we walked along the shore and no wind made for awesome visability. We saw a lot of cruising bows and out deeper we kept seeing all kinds of fish porposing and after I caught that guy we knew that they were all kokes out there. People say kokes dont eat or bite rather during the spawn well this guy followed me all the way in and literally attacked my tube jig right in front of me. It was narley. In a couple years they should be just stacked in there. maybe even next year.
