Default Pueblo conditions report 1/30

i havn't been posting a weekly report this year, but have been posting more fishing reports because of the fine weather we have been having. i thought this would be a good time to post the current conditions. the lake level is now 4870, only 11 feet from full pool. a lot of the hazards are now just under water, so you need to be careful out there. also with the water coming up, it is floating some wood off the banks, and with a little chop on the water they are hard to see, it isnt like later when there are trees floating that you can see for a long way. the ice is about to the no wake bouy line at the west end, and not in very good condition so that might be a factor soon. the water temps have been holding in the high 30s and most of the coves have been ice free in the front, and some bass have been active. the dam has been dead this year compared to years past. i think it is because of all the dead and dying shad. it is gitting to the point of being crowded on the weekends, maybe 15-20 boats out and couple of die hard jet skis. there has been one guy that comes out of the n.marina that ruins the quiet of the day with a go fast boat you can hear for 2 miles, but other than that it has been a great winter so far. if you want a soft water day, come on down.

Thanks for the update, you always do a great job of painting a mental picture of that place for me. Love the reports.

Nice Byron. Thanks for the update. I have never fished P-lo in the winter....dunno how to go about it.

I am happy to hear that the lake is getting higher. You think the lake will be as high or higher than last year? I love it when the lake is high.....better fishing IMO.

Thanks for the report.
I was out there a couple of weeks ago and the "Go Fast" boat dude was out there as well. Brought a nice, peaceful day into a "Where the hell are my ear plugs" kind of afternoon!

Thanks for the update seeker. Think it's about time to come that way - tiring of the "hard" water :P

Just talked to the main office you can still fish at night just no loading or off loading between them hours.

That doesn't sound too bad. If you are out after 11 or midnight there is a good chance you are going to be fishing until (or after) dawn anyways. So this doesn't apply to shore fishermen or float tubes right....only boats?
