Question guys, first time ever doing a ice fishing tourney........ I was wondering if I do catch fish, is it better to just throw them on the ice and let them freeze, or should I drill a hole and keep them in the water?.................. Does it effect the weight, or are there rules or regs about this. Read the form on Larrys website but could not find anything about this issue

Yo King,
The choice is yours, but it's usually better to keep your fish wet and unfrozen. Some people do attempt to increase their fishes weight by bringing them in with lots of snow and ice frozen to them The rules do state that your fish should be snow and ice free!

I keep them on a stringer in a separate hole away from your main lines. This keeps them alive and heavy as possible and also avoids line tangling issues.

Larry will usually provide a dark bag to keep your fish in so that they don't freeze too much and for transport at the end of the day. But keeping them fresh is the best idea, imo.
