Default Brookies through the ice?

anyone know a good place to get a few brookies through the ice?

much less of a hike is sylvan lake south of eagle colorado.
the brookies at one point were 3+ lbs now we catch them in the 2lb range. great fishing! you'll catch bows at about 1lb a peice all day. and your big boys are the brookies.

yeah i agree sylvan i;ve only been there once but all the brookies i caught were real good size

Goon, officer's gulch isn't a lot further on I-70, and it has brooks.

Just past officers gulch is the copper mt. ponds. they have brookies also.

Brainard is a nice hike. May need skis - but doubt it.

The brooks in there won't get much above 12 or 13" if even that though. The higher lakes have bigger brooks though - but are artificials only.

sure thats not just for the stream?
its national forest? I know the stream has regs but the long lake and all I thought was open?

Yeah all the lakes above Brainard (Long, Blue, Isabell, etc...) are all FLO (Fly Lure Only) waters. They have other regs on the streams, I know parts of them are closed to fishing during certain dates (probably for spawning..)
