New to Colorado
 
Does any one know if pueblo or stanley res are iced up. im a freshman at the academy so i dont get to get out much but i want to go fishin this weekend and dont want to drive to ice. any tips would be great on where to fish around here. im from florida so dont know much about the spots yet. i got fly rod and got a spinnin rod.

Pueblo is NOT iced. Neither is the Arkansas river that flows through Pueblo. Both are decent bets for fishing. Another month and Pueblo is gonna be HOPPIN ;)

Welcome to this crazy place. If I may ask.............why Pueblo or Stanley? Do you mean Standley? Have you heard of these place prior to arriving in Colorado? Just curious.....

i just heard some people talk about them. im pretty sure its stanley res. its right up in the mountains behind the academy so its just closer.

The air force academy?

If I am not mistaken....Standley is quite a ways from Colorado Springs. You are better off with Pueblo, 11mile, Spinney, or Antero if you are located in Colorado springs.

You bet. Pueblo is starting to heat up....but it will be a little while....not long though.

11mile, Antero, and Spinney are all losing ice fast with all this hot weather. I would imagine it won't be long for them either. Lots of good fishing a little west of CO springs.

there is a small res named standley( i beleive if not its stanley) behind the academy and it is full of small trout and cutbows..........thats is prolly your best bet it is a very fun lil body a water and it is also a nice hike

ya i think that is the one i heard about. do you think it is iced up there because i dont want to hike up there and not be able to fish.

get a fishing close to home book from your local sportsman's or gander mtn. lots of lakes nearby for you to check out...
